Pacific Marine and MDG are pleased to announce the addition of Jeffrey Griffin as Director of Program Management, effective today.  He will be based at MDG’s Corporate Office in Hawaii, reporting directly to Jon Hayward, SVP of Programs and working closely with CEO, Daniel Brunk.  He will also assume responsibilities as Director of Military and Government Affairs for Pacific Marine.  Griffin will join our group of talented engineers, scientists, and innovators devoted to solving novel technological problems with national defense implications in the fields of Cybersecurity, Autonomy, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Hull Scientific Research and Naval Architecture.

As Director of Program Management, Griffin will be responsible for high-quality, on-time and on-budget execution of all programs in his assigned program portfolio consisting of a mix of research and development programs for DoD, NASA, and other U.S. government agencies.  He will work with each of the Program Managers supporting the portfolio to oversee, organize and shape programs to ensure all objectives and milestones are achieved.

Griffin is a career U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer with extensive Program Management experience in the military and private sector.  He served on numerous surface combatants throughout his career, including command of an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer and a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser.  Griffin has a proven track record, delivering customer-focused, project performance in cost, schedule, safety, and quality.  He was an OPNAV N96 resource sponsor for multiple surface warfare programs, and worked extensively with the Fleet Commanders, Surface TYCOMs and the Surface Warfare Enterprise.

Griffin’s final tour on active duty was as the 47th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Seventh Fleet, the Navy’s largest deployed fleet.  In this role, he was responsible for leading 11 Task Forces, including 70 ships, 200 aircraft and 20,000 personnel operating from the International Date Line to the India-Pakistan border.

After his long and fruitful military career, Griffin transitioned to the private sector in 2018 at Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. in Honolulu, Hawaii as a Lead Associate.  He served as the project management lead for the business unit servicing the Headquarters, U.S. Army Pacific G3 Exercises division and was a principal contributor to the Army’s transformation in support of the Joint Force and USINDOPACOM Operational Plans.

Griffin is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was commissioned through the NROTC program.  He was the President’s Honor Graduate of the March 1999 class at the U.S. Naval War College, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.  He served as an Associate Fellow, CNO Strategic Studies Group XVII, is a graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College, and is designated a Joint Specialty Officer.
